ENT
ENT, which stands for Ear, Nose, and Throat, is a branch of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to these areas. The medical specialty is also known as Otolaryngology. ENT specialists, or otolaryngologists, deal with a variety of conditions including:
- Ear: loss, ear infections, balance disorders, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), and ear-related congenital disorders.
- Nose: Chronic sinusitis, allergies, nasal obstruction, and disorders of the nasal cavity and sinuses.
- Throat: Diseases of the larynx (voice box), esophagus, and upper aero-digestive tract, including voice and swallowing disorders.
- Head and Neck: Tumors, trauma, and deformities of the head, neck, and face, including plastic and reconstructive surgery.
